The history of the company began in early 1991, when Kiril Andreev and Konstantin Zlatanov met for the first time. Their common passion for fishing quickly brought them together and on December 28, 1992, the two friends, still students, founded the company K and K OOD in Asenovgrad. The main goal of creating the company was to be able to combine work with their favorite hobby. Both are engineers, computer specialists, but the love for fishing and nature turned out to be stronger.

The company is very active on the market in promoting the modern methods of fishing - besides advertising in all the major angling publications, it has also organized competitions, sponsored own team and even took part in publishing a magazine. K & K Ltd. was actually the first private company in Bulgaria to give money for the development of fishing as a sport.

On 19.12.1995 the company welcomes two new partners – the brothers Sasho and Toma Lekovi. All four partners establish a new company – Filista Ltd. with an office in Plovdiv, while K & K Ltd. works only with foreign partners.
At the end of 1997 were released the first monofilament lines with the brand name Lazer. Since then, the range has grown significantly, including also braided lines and items for fly-fishing, and now the company successfully exports these lines to many European countries. The range of Lazer lines includes both models for alround use and for specialized fishing. All custom requirements can also be met. In 1998 K & K Ltd. has opened a representative retail shop in Plovdiv, which is one of the biggest in the country.

In the beginning of 1998 Toma Lekov leaves the company and another partner joins – Hovanes Ovanesov - Oncho. Passionate fisherman, he starts testing all new fishing tackle equipment.

In the beginning of 2000 the company has acquired the rights for the brand Filstar and now manufactures and exports all kind of fishing tackle under this name. The range includes reels, rods, floats, hooks, swivels, chairs, groundbaits and many other accessories.

At the end of 2001 K & K Ltd. has become a member of EFTTA and is the first Bulgarian company, without foreign participation, which is a member of the association. Since 2002 it is also a regular exhibitor at the organization show – EFTTEX.

In 2002 the existing small production of floats of the company was enlarged by acquiring new fully automatic modern equipment. This allowed K & K Ltd. to offer to the world market high quality floats with possibility to meet all the requirements of its customers. The first exported floats were to a nearby country - Turkey and now floats are exported to countries, as far as Australia, South Africa and Canada.

In the beginning of 2005 a new wholesale warehouse was opened in the capital Sofia to meet the rising demand and to enhance the existing distribution from the first warehouse in Plovdiv. At the end of same year the Plovdiv division also moved to new premises - purpose built facilities with large warehouse, showroom and office section. This move was necessitated by the stable growth of the company and increased volumes. The wholesale warehouse was the largest of its kind in Bulgaria and improved even further the service for the customers. In 2010 it was further enlarged as a new part was added to the existing facilities.

At the moment the company operates a wholesale stores in Plovdiv and Sofia.

Since March 2020 the company has moved the main warehouse in Plovdiv to a new, modern building. The new building is situated on land K & K Ltd. purchased two years ago and its progress has been supervised from the very beginning of construction. It is two-and-a-half times larger than the previous warehouse and in total covers 2,300 sqm of offices and warehouse space. It is managed by a new software programme that helps faster processing of orders. It is also equipped with upgraded racks for storage and includes a showroom on two floors that hosts more than 13,000 different products.

In 2023 the company celebrated its 30-year anniversary. The founders are grateful to be working so many partners in the country and abroad and wish all of them long and prosperous life.

K & K Ltd. now has more than 50 employees and exports its products to more than 30 countries. The retailers with fishing shops which buy fishing tackle equipment from K & K Ltd are more than 500.
